May is the month every pond seems to come to life and the bass are shallow and eating, then bedding.  I caught these in the shallows on senkos.  They were skiddish and the senko “snuck” up on them and they ate it.  The water temp. is getting warmer, but on the Cape, we have had cold nights and the bass won’t stay shallow. We’ve also had a lot of cloudy days which doesn’t push them up either.  Early in the day, as seen by the picture on the left, it was really sunny.  Then the clouds came in, as seen in the picture on the right.
